Frequently-anticipated questions:

What does this data set describe?

Title: Index of FEMA's Flood Insurance Rate Map Panels
Abstract:
This dataset represents the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) panel boundaries. Clark County has been subdivided into FIRM panels for the publication and distribution of FIRMs. The most current FIRMs are a product of a flood insurance restudy of the Las Vegas valley which completed in September, 2002.
Supplemental_Information:
This dataset is not maintained. Any panel modifications after the September, 2002 issue date by FEMA will not be reflected.
  1. How should this data set be cited?

    Entity_and_Attribute_Overview:
Two fields primarily used for display or query: PANEL contains the panel number associated with the published FIRMs; eff_date contains the effective date of the FIRM panel. Panels that were revised through the September 2002 flood insurance restudy would have an effective date of Septermber 27, 2002. Outlying area panels would have an earlier effective date.
    Entity_and_Attribute_Detail_Citation:
FEMA did not publish FIRMs for panels not having 100-year flood zones. Panels without published maps can be identified using the MAP field containing the value of 'F'.
